Special shapes made to measure

Fedur shapes are the durable solution for particularly abrasive hydro transports. They are used worldwide in the dredging and mining industries. Fedur formers are available in Y-pieces, T-pieces, X-pieces, Pants-pieces and Sprant-pieces, among others. The minimum wall thickness combined with the ratio Top Layer – Base Layer is determined by working pressure and application, among other factors. The maximum wall thickness depends on the diameter and type of shaped piece. Practical examples show that the service life can be extended as much as twelve times compared to conventionally constructed shaped parts. The combination of Fedur material and flow properties realize this long service life. This reduces replacement, limits maintenance and is cost effective.

Specific features of Fedur moldings:

  • Fedur with a guaranteed hardness of at least 62 HRc, usually 64 HRc (800 HV) up to the Base Layer.
  • The Fedur Base Layer is particularly tough and perfectly weldable.
  • Choosing the right ratio of Top Layer – Base Layer creates a good balance between hardness and toughness.
  • Fedur has a smooth surface thanks to a fine microstructure.
  • Fedur can be connected to other piping, avoiding inner diameter differences (High-Lows).
  • Diameters possible up to 1,800mm.
  • Length max. 7,000mm, width max. 3,000mm.
  • Wall thickness from 6 to 60mm, Top Layer ratio from 25 to 75%.
  • Variable thickness and layer thickness ratios possible in the high wear zones.
  • Wide range of standard shapes available; special shapes on request.
  • Fedur fittings for dredgers can be registered in accordance with Bureau Veritas “Rules for the classification of steel ships” or in accordance with “American Bureau of Shipping”.
  • Fedur piping is designed and manufactured according to EN & ASME codes.
  • No additional weight compared to a “conventional steel” form piece.
  • UT inspection also possible from outside.
  • Fedur blanks can be supplied with various connection methods such as ASME flanges / DIN flanges / welding tape / GGMC or customer specified flange connection.
  • Reducing shapes are also available.
  • Fedur shapes last up to 12 times longer than conventional steels such as S235J2.
